SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo is BACK in 2021 and we are excited about this highly anticipated spring event, April 13-18. Below you’ll find event information, links to area hotels, ticket info, our video about spending a weekend (or WEEK) in Lakeland.
SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo is an Annual Event
From its humble beginnings in 1974 as a fly-in for sport aviation enthusiasts, the SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo has grown into one of the largest and most successful aviation events in the world. This event is Florida’s largest annual convention of any kind, and each year over 200,000 visitors flock to Lakeland for what has become known as Aviation’s Season Opener or Spring Break for Pilots.
Each spring, pilots flying into the convention enjoy a showcase of hundreds of aircraft on display from of all shapes and sizes. Aircraft areas include Vintage, Homebuilt, Aerobatic, Warbird, Jet, and Light Sport. In addition to aircraft on display, SUN ‘n FUN also features the following:
- Over 500 exhibitors include an incredible lineup of products and services.
- Hands-on workshops teach hundreds of building and maintenance skills.
- Dozens of forums educate pilots and maintainers about safety, new products, and an infinite number of other timely topics.
Not just for pilots, SUN ‘n FUN has STEM and Career Fair activities, plus a Family Fun Zone. The event’s world-famous daily and night airshows feature breathtaking displays from dozens of military and civilian performers.

During your accommodations search, check out Lakeland, Winter Haven, Bartow and Lake Wales. The latter 3 cities have small municipal airports for visitors wishing to fly-in for the event. Have an RV? Cabana Club RV Resort is in Auburndale, which is just off of the Polk Parkway, is only 20 minutes away. Cabana Club has rental cottages that sleep up to 6 as well. Looking at Airbnbs? Search for homes in the aforementioned cities, as well as Haines City and Davenport. These two cities have more than 7,000 vacation rental homes.

US Navy Blue Angels at SUN ‘n FUN
The event will have COVID-19 safety procedures in place for this exciting airshow at Lakeland Linder International Airport. SUN ‘n FUN will feature the US Navy Blue Angels celebrating their 75th Anniversary with all new F-18 Super Hornets and the new Fat Albert C-130. The F-22 Raptor Demo Team and Aeroshell Aerobatic Team will also be performing.
2021 Ticket Information
2020 SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo Tickets not refunded in 2020 will be honored when presented at the 2021 event.
If you purchased a ticket for a scheduled event/ particular day, (i.e. 9/27 Club or Preferred Airshow Seating) and need to make a change to the day you plan to attend, please email gro.fnsylf@laent. It is not necessary to contact SUN ‘n FUN if you plan to come on the same day of the week this year.
